Chewy and delicious oatmeal raisin cookies that are easy to make with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the oats and raisins.
  6. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For chewier cookies, bake for less time. You can add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
