Classic cornbread is a comforting and flavorful bread that pairs perfectly with many dishes, featuring a sweet flavor and lovely texture.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
