A comforting dessert made from leftover bread, this bread pudding is warm and sweet, perfect for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of cubed bread
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
  • Butter (for greasing the baking dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Combine the cubed bread and raisins (if using) in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in another bowl until well mixed.
  4. Pour the milk mixture over the bread and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with a drizzle of cream or a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

Use stale bread for the best texture and experiment with different bread types for richer flavors. Serve with powdered sugar or nuts on top for added appeal.
