A simple and comforting tuna salad sandwich that’s perfect for lunch or picnics.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 slices of bread
  • Lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Tomato slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, and sweet pickle relish in a bowl. Stir it all together with a fork until well mixed and creamy.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Toast the bread slices to your desired level of toasty goodness (optional).
  5. Spread the tuna mixture onto one slice of bread.
  6. Add lettuce and tomato slices on top of the tuna mixture (if using).
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, cut in half if desired, and serve.

Notes

For an extra cool sandwich, chill the tuna salad in the refrigerator before serving. Feel free to customize the recipe with your favorite ingredients.
