Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Fresh fruit for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the flour and baking powder in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix the flour mixture into the creamed mixture alternately with the whole milk, starting and ending with flour.
  6. Bake the batter in the prepared dish for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Create a milk mixture by combining sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk in a separate bowl.
  8. Soak the cake with the milk mixture after it cools for 10 minutes; poke holes and allow it to chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  9. Decorate the top with whipped cream and garnish with fresh fruit if desired before serving.

Notes

Ensure to let the cake cool adequately before adding the milk mixture for proper absorption.
