A delightful Italian dessert combining layers of creamy mascarpone, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whip the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  2. Mix the brewed coffee with coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  3. Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the coffee mixture and layer them in a baking dish.
  4. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  5. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Dust the top layer with cocoa powder.
  7. Refrigerate the cake for at least 240 minutes or overnight before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, chill overnight. Quick dipping of ladyfingers is essential to prevent sogginess.
