Delicious Teriyaki Chicken Skewers with sweet and savory flavors, perfect for summer BBQs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

  1. Make the Teriyaki Marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki marinade. Whisk everything together until the brown sugar is dissolved.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Assemble Skewers: Once marinated, thread the chicken pieces onto the soaked skewers, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  5. Grill the Chicken Skewers: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and charred.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from grill, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

Notes

Great for meal prep; leftover skewers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
