A lighter take on the classic stroganoff, this Ground Turkey Stroganoff is rich, creamy, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Ground Turkey in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, and sauté until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
  5. Gradually stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken for about 5 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream until well combined, creating a velvety sauce.
  7. Serve over egg noodles or rice, and garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté mushrooms and onions in butter before adding turkey. This dish can also be made gluten-free or spicy, depending on your preference.
