A comforting dish of thick egg noodles coated in a savory garlic sauce paired with tender chicken, perfect for busy weeknights or leisurely weekends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 to 14 oz egg noodles
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable or sesame oil
  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or lime juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons chili paste or sriracha (optional)
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from pan.
  3. Add more oil if necessary, then sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, honey, and vinegar (or lime juice). Stir in chili paste if using and let simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet. Add the noodles, tossing gently to combine.
  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving warm.

Notes

Feel free to add vegetables or adjust the sweetness of the sauce. Marinating the chicken beforehand can enhance flavors.
