A rich and creamy dessert reminiscent of sweet treats from Mexican restaurants, featuring a flaky crescent roll base and a caramelized, buttery topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Beat together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread evenly over the crescent roll layer.
  4. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the top, then sprinkle a mixture of sugar and cinnamon generously over everything.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth mixture and easier spreading. Adapt the sugar and cinnamon to suit your taste preferences.
