  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in the flour: Add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let it rise: Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Shape the pretzel bites: Roll the dough into small bite-sized pieces.
  7. Boil the pretzel bites: Boil water with baking soda and briefly boil the pretzel bites until they puff up (about 30 seconds).
  8. Prepare for baking: Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sea salt.
  9. Bake to perfection: Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
