Deliciously soft and chewy snickerdoodle cookies coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for making memories.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for rolling)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully blended.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, blending until just combined.
  6. Mix together 1/4 cup of sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for rolling.
  7. Shape the dough into balls and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Bake the cookie balls on ungreased baking sheets for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on baking sheets before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze baked cookies for up to three months.
