  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by gathering them. If using raw chicken, chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Sauté the chicken in a large skillet over medium heat with melted butter, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and paprika until golden brown.
  3. Create the roux by sprinkling the flour over the chicken and cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Add the heavy cream and chicken broth slowly while stirring constantly.
  5. Stir in the rinsed rice, reduce heat to low, and simmer covered for 18-20 minutes.
  6. Adjust the seasoning and stir in the Italian herbs once rice is cooked.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Can freeze well for up to 3 months.
