  • 1 box frozen perogies (about 16 oz)
  • 1 lb kielbasa or your favorite smoked sausage
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or white wine (optional)
  • Sour cream for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients on your countertop.
  2. Sauté the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add the onion and bell peppers. Cook until soft.
  3. Add the kielbasa and let it sear until golden brown.
  4. Introduce the minced garlic, stirring for about a minute.
  5. Cook the perogies, adding broth or wine if using, and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Final stir to combine and cook uncovered for another 2-3 minutes until crispy.
  7. Garnish with sour cream and parsley before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, swap the sausage for plant-based sausage. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
