Ingredients

  • 2 pounds shrimp, deveined
  • 4 quarts water
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 4 ears corn, cut in halves
  • 1 pound small red potatoes
  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1/4 cup salt

Instructions

  1. Boil the Spiced Water: In a large pot, bring the water, salt, and Old Bay seasoning to a vigorous boil.
  2. Cook the Potatoes: Add the small red potatoes to the pot and let them cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add Corn and Sausage: Toss in the corn halves and sliced smoked sausage. Let everything simmer together for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add the Shrimp and Lemon: Finally, add the shrimp and lemon halves to the pot. Cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Drain and Serve Hot: Once everything is cooked to perfection, drain the mixture and serve it hot.

Notes

Choose fresh, wild-caught shrimp for the best flavor. Old Bay seasoning is essential for authenticity.
