  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream (or plain yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts (or pecans or almonds)
  • 1/2 cup Celery (or green bell pepper)
  • 2 tablespoons Shallots (or green onion)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard (or yellow mustard)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Dill (or parsley or thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (or fresh garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice (or vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon Fine Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper (or white pepper)
  • 8 slices White Bread (or whole grain/gluten-free)
  • 4 tablespoons Salted Butter

Instructions

  1. Gather ingredients on the counter.
  2. Chop the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Prepare the creamy mixture by combining mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the chopped chicken, walnuts, minced celery, and shallots to the creamy mixture.
  5. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches using the chicken mixture and top with remaining bread.
  8. Serve immediately or pack for later.

Notes
