Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and form into oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add beef broth to the same pan and bring to a simmer. If using, add mushrooms.
  4. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry, then stir into the broth.
  5. Return patties to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. For extra flavor, drizzle with extra gravy.
