A delightful mash-up of grilled cheese and pizza, this Pizza Grilled Cheese offers crispy, buttery bread layered with oozy cheese and flavorful pepperoni.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 23 slices of cheese (mozzarella or your choice)
  • 23 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Pizza sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer cheese and pepperoni on top.
  5. Cover with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
  6. Cook until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat, slice, and serve with pizza sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

For a veggie twist, add sautéed mushrooms or green peppers. You can also use gluten-free bread or substitute with vegan cheese.
