A hearty, one-pan dish that brings all the flavors of the classic Philly cheesesteak without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Optional: hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until nicely browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Mix the cooked vegetables back into the skillet with the steak, and place the provolone cheese on top. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese.
  5. Serve the skillet dish straight from the pan or spoon it onto hoagie rolls.

Notes

Consider adding cooked bacon bits or a splash of Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor. You can also swap vegetables based on your preference.
