A delightful and creamy pasta dish that blends vodka, tomatoes, and heavy cream for a rich flavor experience.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Deglaze with vodka, allowing it to simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Combine the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream, seasoning with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  6. Toss the cooked penne with the vodka sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
