A nostalgic peach cobbler that celebrates the sweetness of summer with tender peaches and a golden, buttery crust.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the sliced fresh peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and let them rest.
  3. Combine the flour, the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
  4. Pour the melted butter into a greased baking dish, then gently pour the batter over it.
  5. Top the batter with the peach mixture.
  6. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For added flavor, feel free to add a splash of almond extract or spices like cinnamon or nutmeg.
