A stunning dessert with a crunchy meringue exterior and soft interior, topped with whipped cream and fresh berries, perfect for festive occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold in cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well combined yet fluffy.
  4. Spoon the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a circle and making a slight well in the center to hold the toppings.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let the pavlova cool completely inside the oven.
  6. Whip the cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  7. Assemble the dessert by placing the cooled pavlova on a serving plate and topping it with whipped cream and mixed berries.

Notes

For a twist, experiment with different fruit toppings. Ensure the bowl for whipping egg whites is clean to achieve the best results.
