  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Combine with Water: Add the warm water to the dry mixture and stir until fully combined.
  3. Introduce the Star Ingredients: Mix in the grated parmesan cheese and minced garlic.
  4. Let It Rise: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  5. Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  6. Shape the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  7. Rest the Dough: Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake the Bread: Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place the dough inside. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Finish Browning: Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
  10. Cool and Slice: Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use warm (not hot) water to activate the yeast. Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days.
