A nostalgic dessert that combines ripe peaches with a buttery, golden crust, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced peaches
  • 1 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for the baking magic ahead.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix everything well and set aside to let the flavors meld together.
  3. In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. This combination forms the base of your cobbler dough.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Spoon the peach mixture over the top without stirring, allowing it to sit on the batter.
  6. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  7. Once baked, let your cobbler cool slightly before serving.
