Chewy and sweet oatmeal raisin cookies that evoke nostalgia and comfort with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Creaming together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture until well integrated.
  6. Stir in the rolled oats and raisins.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.

Notes

For extra moisture, store cookies with a slice of bread. Feel free to substitute raisins with chocolate chips or nuts.
