Delightful and fluffy beignets dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Whisk wet ingredients in another bowl: milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Form the dough by gradually adding wet ingredients to dry ingredients.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  5. Cut the dough into squares using a knife or pizza cutter.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry the dough squares in hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Drain beignets on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
