A nostalgic and addictive combination of chocolate and peanut butter coated over crunchy Rice Chex cereal, perfect for snacking.

  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Measure the Cereal: In a large bowl, measure out 9 cups of Rice Chex cereal and set it aside.
  2. Melt the Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Vanilla: Stir in the teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Coat the Cereal: Pour the warm chocolate mixture over the Rice Chex cereal, gently stirring to coat each piece thoroughly.
  5. Shake it Up!: Place the powdered sugar in a large resealable plastic bag, then add the coated cereal. Seal the bag tightly and shake until the cereal is well coated.
  6. Cool and Enjoy!: Spread the Muddy Buddies out on wax paper or a baking sheet to cool completely.
