A delightful fusion of ham, turkey, and cheese, enveloped in soft bread, perfect for weekend breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup deli ham, chopped
  • 1/2 cup deli turkey or chicken, chopped
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes, then layer half of them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped ham, turkey, and shredded cheese over the egg mixture.
  6. Top with the remaining bread cubes, then pour any remaining egg mixture over the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set and golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

Use slightly stale bread for best results; it absorbs the egg mixture better. Customize with your favorite cheeses and deli meats.
