  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (or coconut oil for a Halal-friendly option)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M candies
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans) (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix gradually in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the M&M candies and optional nuts.
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are slightly soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to help maintain shape. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
