A comforting casserole combining spaghetti, ground beef, cottage cheese, and gooey mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until the meat is fully cooked.
  4. Add the spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix the cooked spaghetti with cottage cheese in a large bowl.
  6. Layer half of the spaghetti mixture, meat sauce, and shredded mozzarella cheese in a baking dish; repeat the layers.
  7. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This dish can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Let it cool completely before freezing.
