  • 2 pounds chicken pieces (thighs or breasts)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken pieces in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Fire up your grill and let it heat to medium-high.
  4. Grill the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard it. Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes on each side, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Rest the Chicken: Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the chicken with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

For maximum flavor, marinate overnight. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
