A simple yet mouthwatering recipe for Japanese Chicken Yakitori, marinated in a sweet and savory blend and grilled to perfection.

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Bamboo skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the Chicken onto Skewers: Carefully thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
