Crispy, cheesy crackers that bring a wave of nostalgia and are easy to make from scratch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons ice water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the shredded cheddar cheese, flour, cubed butter, salt, paprika, and garlic powder in a food processor. Pulse until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, pulsing until the mixture forms a cohesive dough ball.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into 1-inch squares and poke a small hole in each square.
  6. Place the squares on the baking sheet, spaced apart, and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
