A delightful dish combining smoked sausage, sweet honey, and perfectly cooked shrimp in a honey garlic sauce, served with vibrant broccoli.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1012 oz smoked sausage (sliced)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon water (if using cornstarch)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional garnish)
  • Chopped green onions (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. If you’re looking to thicken the sauce, dissolve the cornstarch in a tablespoon of water and stir it into the mix. Set this sauce aside for later.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until it’s beautifully browned, about 3-4 minutes. Once it reaches that perfect color, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Toss in the broccoli florets and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they are tender and bright green. Season with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor.
  4. Bring the shrimp into the mix! Add the shrimp into the skillet with the broccoli and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Return the browned sausage to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over all the ingredients, gently tossing to coat everything evenly. Let it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water if necessary.
