A hearty and comforting dish of juicy meatballs paired with creamy garlic mashed potatoes, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling a pot of salted water and adding your cubed potatoes. Cook them until they’re fork-tender, which usually takes about 15 minutes.
  2. In the final five minutes of cooking the potatoes, toss in the minced garlic.
  3. While the potatoes are boiling, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they’re cooked through and golden brown.
  6. Once the potatoes and garlic are cooked, drain them and return them to the pot. Add milk and butter, then mash to your desired consistency.
  7. Prepare the sauce by simmering together the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning in a small pot over medium heat until warmed through.
  8. Plate up your meatballs over a generous serving of garlic mashed potatoes and drizzle with the warm sauce.

Notes

For a lighter option, swap ground beef for turkey or chicken. Consider adding herbs or vegetables for extra flavor.
