Delightful homemade churros with a crisp exterior and soft center, coated in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • Cinnamon sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Boil the water, sugar, and salt in a saucepan until boiling.
  2. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or skillet to 375°F.
  5. Fill a piping bag with the churro dough and pipe into hot oil in desired shapes.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels, then roll in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Churros are best enjoyed fresh. To reheat, place them in a toaster oven for a few minutes.
