A nutritious take on the classic banana bread made with whole wheat flour and oats, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan to prevent any sticky situations later.
  2. Mix the mashed bananas, honey (or maple syrup), and eggs until you have a smooth, creamy mixture.
  3. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Merge the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed. If you’re feeling adventurous, fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top if needed.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes
