Fat-Free Greek Yogurt Cinnamon Rolls

Light and fluffy cinnamon rolls made with fat-free Greek yogurt for a guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or a sugar substitute)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the Greek yogurt, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cinnamon, applesauce, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
  3. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle, about ½ inch thick.
  4. Spread a small amount of applesauce on the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  5. Roll the dough into a log, keeping the filling inside.
  6. Slice the rolled dough into even pieces, approximately 1-inch thick.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm, possibly with extra cinnamon sugar on top. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for 2-3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
