A rich and creamy transformation of the classic holiday eggnog into a delightful panna cotta dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup bourbon or rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine cream and sugar in a saucepan, heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
  2. Prepare gelatin by sprinkling it over water and letting it bloom for 5 minutes.
  3. Dissolve gelatin into the cream mixture after removing it from heat.
  4. Flavor the mixture with vanilla extract and nutmeg, adding bourbon or rum if desired.
  5. Pour the mixture into serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
  6. Garnish and serve chilled, topped with whipped cream and nutmeg.

Notes

This dessert can be made a day in advance. Make sure to use fresh gelatin for the best results.
