A delightful recipe for Easy Orange Chicken, featuring crispy chicken bites in a sweet and tangy orange sauce.

  • 1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Rinse chicken pieces under cold water and pat dry. Season flour with salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Coat the Chicken: Dip chicken pieces into beaten eggs, then coat them in the seasoned flour mixture.
  3. Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add coated chicken pieces and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Create the Orange Sauce: In the skillet, reduce heat and add orange juice, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir and simmer for a couple of minutes.
  5. Thicken the Sauce: Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add to the sauce, stirring until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add Chicken to Sauce: Toss crispy chicken in the sauce, adding orange zest for flavor. Mix well.
  7. Serve with Love: Serve hot over steamed rice or with vegetables.
