A quick and simple Turkish bread recipe that requires no oven, perfect for pairing with dips or wraps.

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the warm water and olive oil into the bowl. Stir gently until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the Dough: Lightly flour your work surface and turn the dough out onto it. Knead the dough for about 5–7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the Dough: Once kneaded, divide it into equal portions and roll each piece into a flat circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cook in the Skillet: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook each flat circle for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Enjoy: Serve warm with your favorite dips or use them as wraps.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days or freeze with parchment paper between pieces.
