Indulgent Double Chocolate Cookies that are soft, chewy, and filled with melted chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For ultimate flavor, let your butter sit out until it’s slightly warmer than room temperature. Use parchment paper on your baking sheets to prevent sticking.
