A rich, buttery French toast casserole made with croissants, perfect for leisurely breakfast gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Croissants
  • Eggs
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract
  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Maple syrup (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the greased baking dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces. Gently press down on the croissants to soak them in the custard.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and let it bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  6. Let the casserole cool slightly before serving, then drizzle with maple syrup if desired.

Notes

Stale croissants work best for this recipe; you can also customize with fruits or nuts.
