Delicious crispy cups made from wonton wrappers, filled with your choice of savory ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of wonton wrappers (usually 12 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of cooked and shredded chicken (or filling of choice)
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your preference)
  • 1/2 cup of diced vegetables (bell peppers, onions, or corn)
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (like cilantro or chives)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the wonton cups.
  2. Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or brush with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  3. Take one wonton wrapper and place it in the muffin tin, pressing it down gently to form a cup shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.
  4. Once all wrappers are in place, brush the tops and edges of each wonton cup with vegetable oil or melted butter.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over each wonton cup for seasoning.
  6. Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the wontons are golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the wonton cups are baking, prepare your filling by mixing together the shredded chicken, cheese, diced vegetables, sour cream, garlic powder, and onion powder in a mixing bowl until well combined.
  8. Once the wonton cups are baked, remove them from the oven and carefully fill each cup with the prepared filling.
  9. Return the filled wonton cups to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
