Delicious bites of macaroni and cheese rolled into balls, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried to a crispy perfection. Perfect for parties and game day!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups prepared mac and cheese, chilled
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Create a Creamy Cheese Sauce by melting 4 tablespoons butter, whisking in 4 tablespoons flour, and gradually adding 2 cups milk until thickened. Stir in cheeses until smooth and mix with macaroni.
  2. Refrigerate the mixture in a baking dish for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Form the mac and cheese into balls about the size of ping pong balls.
  4. Set up coating stations with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Coat each ball in flour, followed by beaten eggs, and then breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil to 350°F.
  7. Fry the balls in small batches for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Ensure the mac and cheese is chilled before shaping and frying to avoid falling apart. Fry in small batches for better results.
