A comforting dessert made with soft rice, sweet milk, and hints of vanilla, perfect for any time of the day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
  • Raisins or other dried fruit (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the rice, milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture is creamy.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and cinnamon, if using.
  5. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with raisins or dried fruit if desired.

Notes

Stir the pudding often while it cooks to prevent it from sticking. You can use any type of rice, but short-grain rice works best for a creamier texture.
