A comforting casserole featuring layers of fluffy rice and tender chicken in a rich creamy sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup rice, uncooked
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your preference)
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Breadcrumbs for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the cooked chicken, uncooked rice, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, sour cream, shredded cheese, peas, onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Add breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy topping, if desired.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the rice is tender and the casserole is bubbly.
  7. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your comforting meal!

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, let it cool completely before packing it for the freezer.
