Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 24 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10-inch bundt pan and dust it with flour.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Prepare the cream cheese glaze by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
