  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter (for topping)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray for effortless release once baked.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and kosher salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the whole milk, large egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract in another bowl until well combined and frothy.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients gently, mixing until no dry flour is visible.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Slide the loaf pan into the oven and bake for about 60–70 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Once baked, let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then brush with melted butter and coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
