A warm, spiced treat that echoes the flavors of donuts in a cozy bread form, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Whisk together the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top gently with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle the top of the batter generously with cinnamon sugar.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Once baked, let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
